Ransomware in Marshall County

The kids have just started back to school and if you are living in the same world that I live in, life is stressful. When I was a kid the only thing we worried about was catching the bus on time or passing a test we forgot to study for. Today as parents, business owners, and human beings we have alot to worry about. I know Covid 19 is at the top of everyone's list and its hard to try and resume some form of a normal life, but we must keep going. As we keep going and everyone trying to get back to work as usual not only is Covid 19 on the rise so is Ransomware. I wish I could tell everyone not to worry that Ransomware is only for big cities and rich companies but unfortunately it is for anyone that has a computer.

We are a little over half way through the year and we have already passed the number of attacks for the entire year of 2020. In the first half of 2021, there was a global ransomware volume of 304.7 million, surpassing 2020’s full-year total (304.6 million) — a 151% year-to-date increase. With Ransomware on the rise it is no wonder that we are getting affected in our little corner of the world. I am going to start a series of blogs to help educate everyone in our area on Ransomware. I will throw in some blogs on current scams as well so that you can help keep your friends and family from being a victims of cyber fraud.
